Update

We've got news! We’ll be experiencing a bit of a ‘glow up’, closing our doors and moving in with our parents over at Flight Centre in the next few weeks.

We’ve had some challenging times in the travel industry lately, and we want to make sure that you (our amazing customers, who we love!) are kept in the loop. As you may know, Universal Traveller is already a part of the Flight Centre Travel Group and by combining forces we’re going to create a stronger Flight Centre brand for all of our customers. We’ll be able to provide you with even more expertise and even sweeter deals.

So this isn’t goodbye, just a bit of change up! While our doors are closed, rest assured knowing we have a Utrav team ready to help via phone or email while we finish setting up in our new digs.

A message from Graham "Skroo" Turner, CEO Flight Centre Travel Group. Read more

When is Universal Traveller closing?

On March 26, 2020 Universal Traveller will close its doors physically, but we’ll have a Utrav team  available via email or chat, as we make our way into our new Flight Centre stores by the end of April.

Where can I find my booking or quote now?

For you as a customer, there’s no need to worry as nothing will change regarding your booking. Your travel booking is safe with the Flight Centre Travel Group family.

We’ll let you know where your Utrav agent and booking is moving to by email in the coming weeks, so we can continue to Go Beyond, and help you create amazing travel experiences.

What can I do if I have more questions about my booking?

Should you have any questions on your booking while we transit into our new Flight Centre, or want to make any changes, reach out to your Utrav store via email.

I have a Universal Traveller voucher, can I still redeem this?

You sure can. The standard terms & conditions attached to your voucher still apply. You can  also use your voucher in Flight Centre stores.

I have a Universal Traveller gift card, can I still use this?

Yes you can, and this also can be used in any Flight Centre store.  The standard terms & conditions attached to your gift card apply.

What happens to UFlexi?

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and rapidly evolving airline and supplier policies, effective immediately we will be suspending the free cancellation component of our U-Flexi package, all other components of U-Flexi package continue to apply. If you choose to keep the full amount of your booking on file (less any supplier fees) to spend on future travel, we will waive the cancellation fees.  Your travel credit on file will include the amount the supplier refunds us, as well as your U-Flexi package fee and Price Drop Protection voucher. This will remain available to you for 12 months as a travel credit for a future booking. For cancellations that are either forced (by the supplier) or voluntary (you are choosing to cancel your holiday), we will apply our standard $300 cancellation fee per person, as per Universal Traveller's Terms and Conditions. Please note that the supplier fees will also apply. Please also note that supplier cancellation terms and fees may differ. No refunds can be issued until we have received final refunds from our suppliers (which may take up to 12 weeks dependent upon the supplier processing time).

If your holiday is purchased via one of our Book Now, Pay Later products (LayBy or Skye Interest Free)

Standard repayments, based on your contract terms and conditions will still apply. Flight Centre also offer Skye Interest Free, find more out about it here. https://www.flightcentre.com.au/interest-free

Will I still be able to access Student Flights/youth discounts at Flight Centre?

Yes, you will be able to access a range of Student Flights and youth discounts at Flight Centre stores.

I have a Youth travel insurance - will my policy still be valid?

Existing travel insurance policies will be valid as per your certificate of insurance and relevant PDS.

I have heard Flight Centre is in financial trouble, is that true?

Flight Centre’s management and people throughout the world are determined to ensure the business overcomes the significant challenges that it currently faces and, with the support of our customers, we hope to be ready when conditions eventually normalise.

Flight Centre is undertaking steps to ensure we retain a robust balance sheet and liquidity position to enable us to manage through the current crisis. The company is well progressed in pursuing relevant initiatives and will update the market in due course.

As a result, we have implemented a three-point plan to help the business tackle the downturn in demand. These plans include measures to:

  • Immediately and significantly reduce costs globally
  • Where possible, preserve cash; and
  • Access additional liquidity in the short-term

From the team at Universal Traveller and now Flight Centre, we thank you for your patience during this ‘glow up’. We look forward to continuing to help make your travel dreams a reality.
