Update

We came, we saw, we travelled (lots), we went beyond, we lived it up, we loved what we did and every single UTrav minute of it! Now, we’ve “grown up” and have officially entered adulthood, aka, moved in with our parents over at Flight Centre.

This move came with more than just the bonus of mum’s cooking, we (and of course you!) will now have access to so much more travel knowledge and even sweeter travel deals.

So this isn’t goodbye, just a bit of a change up.

Have an existing booking? Please don’t stress! We have you covered. Our Utrav agents have made their way to their new Flight Centre stores, and because Flight Centre is Australia’s largest travel retailer, your booking (and future bookings) will now have more support than ever.

Where can I find my booking or quote now?

For you as a customer, there’s no need to worry as nothing will change regarding your booking. Your travel booking is safe with the Flight Centre Travel Group family. Our Utrav agents have made their way into Flight Centre stores, so they can continue to Go Beyond, and help you create amazing travel experiences.

What can I do if I have more questions about my booking?

By now, we have let all customers with an upcoming booking know which store their consultant is working at, and how to get in touch. If you haven’t received this email, don’t panic, you can contact any Flight Centre store and our Flight Centre family can help.

I have a Universal Traveller voucher, can I still redeem this?

You sure can. The standard terms & conditions attached to your voucher still apply. You can also use your voucher in Flight Centre stores.

I have a Universal Traveller gift card, can I still use this?

Yes you can, and this also can be used in any Flight Centre store. The standard terms & conditions attached to your gift card apply.

U-Flexi Ultimate package - unlimited date changes, no change or cancellation fees on selected Student Flights airfares

Unlimited date changes and no change fees are included with the U-Flexi Ultimate package for selected airlines selling Student Flights fares. These airlines are Virgin Australia, Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand and Malaysia Airlines. For these selected airfares, no fees will be incurred for date change, however any additional fare or tax increase will be charged (i.e. applicable if you are changing to a more expensive fare). Payments are in accordance with our standard payment terms and conditions. U-Flexi Ultimate packages cannot be purchased if any part of the Student Flights airfare is non changeable. To request a date change before your departure date, simply email your travel consultant to request the change. If you wish to make a change to your date once you have departed Australia, contact your travel consultant, email us at uflexi@universaltraveller.com.au or call us on +61 2 8512 9600. Cancellation fees will not be incurred where you have purchased the U-Flexi Ultimate package and cancel your booking before departure on selected airlines selling Student Flights fares. These airlines are Virgin Australia, Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand and Malaysia Airlines. To cancel your ticket, please contact your travel consultant a minimum 24 hours prior to your departure. If the relevant airline has changed their policy and only provides a travel credit we will only be able to process that travel credit not a refund.

Will I still be able to access Student Flights/youth discounts at Flight Centre?

Yes, you will be able to access a range of Student Flights and youth discounts at Flight Centre stores.

I have a Youth travel insurance - will my policy still be valid?

Existing travel insurance policies will be valid as per your certificate of insurance and relevant PDS.

I have heard Flight Centre is in financial trouble, is that true?

Flight Centre’s management and people throughout the world are determined to ensure the business overcomes the significant challenges that it currently faces and, with the support of our customers, we hope to be ready when conditions eventually normalise.

Flight Centre is undertaking steps to ensure we retain a robust balance sheet and liquidity position to enable us to manage through the current crisis. The company is well progressed in pursuing relevant initiatives and will update the market in due course.

As a result, we have implemented a three-point plan to help the business tackle the downturn in demand. These plans include measures to:

  • Immediately and significantly reduce costs globally
  • Where possible, preserve cash; and
  • Access additional liquidity in the short-term
